Intersystems Healthshare FAQ
CyncHealth selected InterSystems as the foundational technology for our health information exchange (HIE). That means we are in the process of migrating platforms from Optum to InterSystems HealthShare.
We’re making this change to ensure CyncHealth is best positioned to deliver innovative services to you, such as unified health records and analytics, as well as help manage cost, utilization, and quality of care. InterSystems supports coordinated care and population health management and offers expanded flexibility for future enhancements. This change allows us to connect a broader set of data sources to our members.
What is Happening?
CyncHealth selected InterSystems as the foundational technology for our health information exchange. That means we are in the process of migrating platforms from Optum to InterSystems HealthShare.
Why is this change happening?
When will the migration occur?
Work is already underway. In fact, many build components are in progress with the InterSystems team. Many facilities have successfully connected to CyncHealth with their feeds via a VPN connection to InterSystems, and some current feeds have been migrated from Optum to InterSystems. All in effort to move data to the new platform when ready for use.
The steps in the migration process include:
- Facilities need to complete an InterSystems VPN form. This form allows for the completion of a VPN build and test to InterSystems. Some facilities will have this in addition to the VPN already in place with Optum.
- Build/test VPN connectivity with InterSystems. This allows for the connectivity to ensure that feeds and data are flowing properly.
- For current participants, CyncHealth project teams will work to set a date to migrate feeds from Optum to InterSystems. CyncHealth users will continue using their Optum access to view patient records until the new clinical viewer within InterSystems is ready for use.
CyncHealth has communicated via email about the VPN and feed migration to InterSystems to the IT contacts we have on file for our current participants. If you have not received these communications or need these sent to a different person, please let us know by contacting Support@CyncHealth.org. We would like to begin working through this process with your facility as soon as possible.
Additional details about user migration and training on InterSystems will be provided in future communications.
Is there anything I need to do right now?
If you are a current participant and have not received an email about the upcoming migration, please send the name of your facility and the current IT contact to Support@CyncHealth.org. Also, in preparation for the new system administration of user access, please start thinking about who you want to identify as a “designated user” from your facility. This person will be responsible for provisioning users with appropriate user access roles, password resets, and de-provisioning users no longer requiring access. We’ll reach out to request your updated CyncHealth user lists prior to migrating users’ access to InterSystems.
If I need any more information, who do I contact?
Reach out any time to Support@CyncHealth.org and a CyncHealth team member will respond to you.
We will continue to keep you updated about the migration to InterSystems.
For additional information, copies of forms, copy of this notice, report an incident, request or if you have questions, please contact Support@CyncHealth.org.
