(La Vista, Neb) CyncHealth is no stranger to boldly innovating and achieving in the face of complex situations when goals may seem lofty—and has a track record to prove it. As of August 1, 2024, CyncHealth has achieved certification as a Qualified Entity from the Centers for Medicaid & Medicare Services (CMS)—and, according to CMS, is the first quasi-QE to transition to a full QE!
According to CMS, the “QE Program (also known as the Medicare Data Sharing for Performance Measurement Program) enables organizations to receive Medicare claims data” to evaluate provider performance. Looking at CMS’s website, just over 30 organizations nationwide have achieved QE status at the time of this release. CyncHealth is excited and proud to be among them.
“As a leading health data utility, CyncHealth’s mission is not just a statement, but a promise to advance interoperability and be a facilitator of transforming healthcare,” says Jaime Bland, CEO and President of CyncHealth. “Now, having achieved the status of a CMS Qualified Entity, CyncHealth is not just poised, but determined to evaluate the efficiency and efficacy of care provided to people across the region, and, in turn, help improve it.”
This certification demonstrates CyncHealth’s expertise and pursuit of the longitudinal health record to deliver value across stakeholders and tell an individual’s health story with data. Uniting our already robust volume of data with the claims data from CMS enhances the longitudinal record, ultimately strengthening the HDU.
Following QE certification, CyncHealth must meet program requirements, which include publicly disseminating “CMS-approved reports on provider performance.” CMS also says, “QEs are also permitted to create non-public analyses and provide or sell such analyses to authorized users” and “may provide or sell combined data, or provide Medicare claims data alone at no cost, to certain authorized users. Under the Qualified Entity Certification Program (QECP), CMS certifies QEs to receive these data and monitors certified QEs.”
